Terms
Terms of Service
Last updated: 25 May 2026
The short version
You sign up to Sigillum Books to track your business income, expenses, and tax information. We provide the software. You own the data you put in. We try our best to keep it safe and available. The Tax Pack is a compiled summary plus a suggested approach based on your figures + the chosen jurisdiction’s current rules — useful as a confident starting point, and an accountant is the right call for complex situations or for thoroughness. If something goes wrong, email support@legioncraftsgb.com and we’ll do right by you within reason.
Who we are
This service is operated by Legion Crafts GB (the “Company”, “we”, “us”), a business based in the United Kingdom. By creating a Sigillum Books account, sending us emails, or using sigillumbooks.com, you agree to these Terms.
If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service. You can stop using Sigillum Books any time by closing your account from the Settings page.
Your account
You agree to:
- Give us accurate information when you sign up + keep it up to date.
- Keep your password safe + not share your account. One account per business, per person.
- Be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher).
- Use the service only for lawful purposes related to your own business records.
You’re responsible for everything that happens under your account. If you think someone else has access, email us and we’ll lock it.
What Sigillum Books does + doesn't do
Sigillum Books is bookkeeping software. We:
- Store the income, expenses, invoices, customers, and other records you create.
- Pull your sales data from connected platforms (Etsy, eBay, Gumroad, etc.) when you authorise us to.
- Compile your data into a Tax Pack to help you (or your accountant) file your return.
What Sigillum does and doesn’t cover for you:
- What we do: compile a Tax Pack + suggested approach from the numbers you entered (or we imported on your behalf) and the chosen jurisdiction’s current rules. For straightforward sole-trader situations this is often enough to file with confidence.
- When to bring in an accountant: complex situations — multiple income streams, partnerships, large property purchases, mixed-jurisdiction earnings, edge-case allowances — or simply for the sake of thoroughness. We summarise what we can see; an accountant adds the edge cases we can’t.
- We don’t file your tax return for you. We help you prepare. You (or your accountant) submit it with the relevant tax authority.
- We don’t move money.Stripe handles your payments to us; we have no access to your customers’ cards or your bank accounts.
- We don’t take any equity, ownership, or fees from your business income. The platforms we connect to are separate businesses with their own fees + terms.
Subscriptions + billing
Sigillum Books has a free tier and three paid tiers (Starter, Growth, Pro). Pricing is on /pricing.
- Paid subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or annually) until you cancel. Cancel any time from the Settings page — you keep access until the end of the current period.
- We use Stripe to process payments. By subscribing you agree to Stripe’s terms in addition to ours.
- Refunds: we offer a full refund within 14 days of your first paid subscription if you’re not happy. After that, refunds are at our discretion case-by-case; we’re a small business and we’d rather make it right than argue about edge cases.
- Founders pricing (50% off the first 3 months or first year, depending on cadence) is a one-time offer per account and ends without notice when we declare the founders cohort closed.
- If we change our prices, signed-in users get at least 30 days’ notice via email. Your existing plan keeps its current price until the next renewal after the notice.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Sigillum to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise try to extract our source code.
- Scrape or systematically download other users’ data (you can’t anyway because of our row-level security, but please don’t try).
- Use the service for fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, or any other unlawful activity. We will cooperate with lawful investigations.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without our prior written permission. Responsible disclosure of genuine security findings to support@legioncraftsgb.com is encouraged and exempt from this clause.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to Sigillum without a written agreement with us.
- Upload content that infringes someone else’s rights, contains malware, or is illegal where you or we live.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this clause, with or without notice depending on severity, and we’ll try to give you your data back before we delete the account if circumstances allow.
Your data + content
You keep all rights to the data you upload (your income, expenses, customer details, receipts, etc.). You grant us a limited licence to store, process, transmit, and display it to provide the service to you. We don’t sell your data and we don’t use it to train AI models.
How we handle personal data is spelled out in our Privacy Policy.
You can export your data any time as CSV via the Tax Pack, Reports, and individual list-page exports inside the app. If you need a full data dump in a machine-readable format, email support@legioncraftsgb.com and we’ll send you one.
Third-party platforms
Sigillum integrates with third-party platforms (Etsy, eBay, Gumroad, LemonSqueezy, TikTok Shop, Stripe, and others) under their own terms. We’re not responsible for:
- Changes those platforms make to their APIs (we keep up but there’s sometimes a gap).
- Outages or downtime on those platforms.
- The accuracy of the data those platforms return (we faithfully import what they give us).
- Anything those platforms charge you separately.
You can disconnect a platform at any time from the Integrations page. Disconnecting deletes the access tokens we hold; the data we’ve already imported stays in your Sigillum account (it’s your data).
Availability + service changes
We work hard to keep Sigillum available 24/7, but we don’t guarantee zero downtime. Planned maintenance gets announced where possible.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We won’t take away core paid features without offering you a refund for any unused part of your subscription period.
If we ever decide to shut Sigillum down for good, you’ll get at least 90 days’ notice + tools to export your data in full.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, Sigillum Books is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. The Tax Pack and any computed numbers are aids, not certified financial statements.
Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is capped at the amount you’ve paid us in the 12 months immediately before the claim — or £100, whichever is higher.
Nothing in this clause limits liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited under UK law.
Termination
You can close your account any time from Settings. We can terminate your account if you breach these Terms; we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to fix it where possible.
On termination we’ll keep your records for the retention period set out in the Privacy Policy (typically the six-year UK tax-law minimum), then delete them. You can ask for an export before that period ends.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. We’ll bump the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes (new restrictions, new charges, significant new processing), we’ll email signed-in users at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
Continued use after a change means you accept the new version. If you don’t, please close your account before the change date.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes go to the courts of England and Wales unless consumer-protection law in your country gives you the right to use local courts.
